General Short Information on Limbach Aircraft Engines
For more than 30 years the name Limbach Flugmotoren has been associated with flying. More than 5500 Limbach aircraft engines are in use around the world and have run up more than 16 million hours.
In many countries LIMBACH SERVICE STATIONS are available for customers.
The network is beeing expanded.



Reduced Cockpit Noise
Special attention was paid to smooth runing and low fuel consumption. That allows relaxed flying over long distances. Pilots, who have had the opportunity to fly with the new engines, marvel at the low cabin noise level - an important prerequisite for relaxed flying. Main contributors to the low noise level are low engine speeds and the ommision of a reduction gear.


Power For Glider Towing
The L 2400 DT's 96 kW (130 HP) allow comfortable towing of 2 -seater gliders.
This engine is certificated according to CA 22-H. That qualifies both engines for JAR-VLA applications.

Models
Our L 2400 EF series engine features electronic engine management. It belongs to the most modern designs in its category. and underlines both the innovation and technical competence of Limbach aircraft engines. The electronically controlled fuel injection system makes it easy to operate. There is no leaning and no choke – with an electrically adjustable propeller - all you need to do is to dial in the engine speed and to open the throttle.
Its smooth running and low fuel consumption set standards - with our fuel-injected engine – your aircraft is turned into a comfortable cruiser. 
Our research and development department is currently working on additional innovations such as a turbocharged version of the L 2400 EF engine, generating 96 KW (130 hp).

Limbach Aircraft Engines For JAR - VLA Airplanes
Most of our engines are certified according to CS 22-H. These regulations also qualify our engines for installation into the new generation of JAR-VLA aircraft. For details, please contact us.

Limbach Aircraft Engines For Experimental Airplanes
A growing number of experimental aircraft such asKR II, the Pottier P-180, P-220 and P-230, the Jodel D-18, the Sonerai II, the Menestrel I and II, the Cherry BXII, the Dragonfly, the Q2 etc. aircraft are equipped with Limbach engines. For some aircraft, the plans are already detailed for installation of Limbach engines, some designers even supply complete kits for engine installation.

Limbach Aircraft Engines For Ultra Light Aircraft
Our engines can also be installed into ultra light aircraft. For example, aircraft made by Rans, Voliamo or Asso can alternatively be equipped with Limbach engines (mainly L 2000 EA series engines). But also aircraft of the new JAR/VLA – Very Light Aircraft—category can be successfully fitted with one the many different Limbach engines.

Limbach Engines For Unmanned Aircraft
Flying with unmanned aircraft, so-called UAV’s, is becoming more and more important. Our range of two-cycle engines is practically without competition when it comes to weight. For that reason, it is ideally suited for unmanned flying. Up until now unmanned aviation was primarily a military domain, but now there is an increasing interest in using this type of aircraft for civil aviation purposes. If you plan on using unmanned aircraft for air observation, surveying, photography, telecommunication or environmental purposes, contact us.
